About Our Doctors

Dr. Stuart Sherrell

I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I received my Bachelor of Zoology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University. I moved to Arizona in 1985, and joined Arrow Animal Hospital & Grooming in 1986. We evolved from a 3 veterinarian single practice to a group of 21 hospitals and continuing to grow. I am very proud to be a part of this great organization and feel privileged to work with the people I get to work with each day.

My wife, Stacie and I live in Phoenix with two boys, Josh and Toby. My oldest son Aaron is just about to finish law school at ASU. We have 6 pets, Larry, Martini, Hope, Tibbles, Pinksis-Pinksis, and Drool Baby. When I am not at work, I like to spend time with my family and pets at home and get out on my bike and hike as much as possible.

Dr. Kent Livermore

I was born and raised in rural northwest Iowa, where I spent my summers as a kid active in 4-H, working on the farm and drinking Root beer floats to stay cool. After earning my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1974, I moved to sunny Phoenix, AZ, and have been enjoying the beautiful desert ever since! I joined the AZPetVet family in 1994, working at Roadrunner Animal Hospital & Grooming for the last 25 years before transferring here to our Arrow Animal Hospital & Grooming location in 2020. I love being a veterinarian, and I am passionate about helping our clients and their pets.

My wonderful wife and I have been married more than 30 years, and we have three children and four amazing grandchildren. We also enjoy spending time with our Himalayan kitty, Bandit. My free time is filled with family activities, community service, travel, bicycling, and serving at my church, Pure Heart Christian Fellowship. I look forward to partnering with you in the health and care of your pets!

Dr. Roger Willms

I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. My training includes a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Eastern Washington University and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University. I was a fish and wildlife biologist for the state of Washington for seven years before attending veterinary school. I joined Arrow Animal Hospital & Grooming in June of 2000 and became a partner in 2006.

I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends. My hobbies include travel, fitness, and outdoor activities. It has been my pleasure to be part of the Arrow family, and I enjoy working with our amazing clients and their pets. While I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, I particularly enjoy surgery, dentistry, and preventative medicine.

Dr. Willow Payton

I was born and raised in Alaska. I received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University. I joined AZPetVet in 2006, working at one of our sister hospitals before joining Arrow Animal Hospital and Grooming in 2008. I became a partner in 2012. My interests include surgery, emergency medicine, dentistry, and grief counseling.

A semester in Australia thoroughly thawed me out and made me forever appreciative of sandy beaches and cheerful Aussies. Moving to Arizona is the fulfillment of a childhood dream to live near the cacti and grandma and grandpa. I share my home with five dogs: Pharoah, Ramsey, Sasha, Sidney, and Skittles. I, their adoring owner, enjoy playing with them, watching movies, hiking, camping, and driving. I thoroughly enjoy working with the dynamic staff, amazing doctors, and wonderful clients here at Arrow Animal Hospital and Grooming.

Dr. Erica Jenkins

I am an Arizona native who worked at Arrow Animal Hospital throughout my high school as a kennel assistant and then over the summers in college as a veterinary technician. I attended Colorado State University for my undergraduate studies and veterinary school. I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and then practiced on the Oregon Coast for three years. I returned to Arizona to re-join Arrow Animal Hospital in 2007 and became a partner in 2012. My interests include, but are not limited to, dermatology, behavior, and surgery.

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. In my free time, I travel and scrapbook. My husband Josh and I share our home with our wonderful dogs, Sam and Maynard. I am so happy to be back with my Arrow family, where I started, and I look forward to getting to know you and your pets.

Dr. Tracey Dutson

I was born in Buffalo, New York, and grew up in California! In 1996, I moved to Arizona in order to study Agribusiness at Arizona State, graduating in 1998. While studying at ASU, I began volunteering at the Arizona Humane Society and a local emergency animal clinic. In 1997, I became a Veterinary Nurse at the emergency clinic. In 1998, I started working as a Vet Tech at AZPetVet Bell Ridge Animal Hospital. It was my first experience in the AZPetVet family – but not my last! In 2000, I went back to school to study Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.

Today, I am proud to be a part of the AZPetVet family again. My special interests in the Vet field include Dentistry, Dermatology and Ophthalmology, and surgeries.

Life at home includes my husband Derek, and our daughters Ashley and Tiffany. We have two pets – a 12-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Australian Cattle Dog mix, and a 14-year-old Flame Point Ragdoll cat. My hobbies include photography, scrapbooking, church, cooking and sewing.

Dr. Lydia Bolduc

I am originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I received my bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of Maine in 2013. From there, I moved to Arizona to pursue a master’s degree in Biomedical Science before attending veterinary school as a part of the inaugural class of Midwestern University. I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2018.

My clinical interests include nutrition, dermatology, and arthritis management. When I’m not at the hospital, I love cooking, camping, craft beer, and spending time with my husband, Jordan, Pitbull mix, Daja, and 5 cats.

Dr. Ken Prejs

I grew up in Scottsdale and graduated from Coronado High School. I earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Zoology from Arizona State University. I went on and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. I have practiced veterinary medicine in the Phoenix area for over 30 years.

While my primary focus is canine and feline medicine, I have a special interest in exotic animal medicine, including pocket pets, rabbits, birds, and reptiles. I believe all pets should have access to good health care and have earned over 250 hours of continuing education in exotic animal medicine. While in veterinary school, I was a Student Coordinator for the Raptor Rehabilitation Program, Colorado Division of Wildlife, and worked as a volunteer animal keeper at the Phoenix Zoo during the summers.

I am married to Dr. Susan Goshert, and we have 2 adult children. Our pets include 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 Amazon parrots, and a desert tortoise. I spend my spare time practicing yoga, hiking, traveling, and learning new music from my children.

Dr. Schuyler Burns

I was born in Glendale, AZ, but moved to Tuscon when I was 9 years old. Shortly before moving, my family adopted my childhood dog and best friend, Bear, which is when my passion for animals began. As I got older, I realized how critical and rewarding proper animal health-care was for my dog, so I wanted a career where I could help deliver this same care to other pets. I began by attending The University of Arizona for my BS in Veterinary Sciences. While in school, I worked in two research facilities, where I practiced husbandry with many animals, including monkeys! I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, and joined Arrow Animal Hospital & Grooming in March 2019. As for my veterinary interests, I enjoy surgery (specifically orthopedic) and internal medicine cases.

I live with my Australian Shepard, Duke, and his (Golden Retriever) baby brother, Oliver. When I’m outside of work, I love mountain biking, hiking, and fishing - plus going to the trap and skeet range from time to time. I look forward to providing your pets with the best quality health-care they deserve!

Dr. Shanah Frankel

Although I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, I spent most of my summers and school breaks in Phoenix! I attended The Ohio State University for both my undergraduate and veterinary medicine degrees. (Fun fact: I’m the third Dr. Frankel that has graduated from OSU!) Throughout my veterinary career, I worked at a horse-riding camp, a small animal general practice hospital, the USDA, and even spent two summers with the Columbus Zoo! I am specifically interested in areas including anesthesia, feline medicine, reproductive medicine, pain management, and dentistry.

Currently, I live with my boyfriend and orange tabby cat. In my free time, I like cooking, finding new places to eat, going to breweries, and spending time with my family. I’m also a total true crime junkie, and even rode horses for the Ohio State equestrian team!

Dr. Janelle Starr

I was born and raised here in Arizona. I received my undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University in 2015 and graduated with my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2019. After graduation, I returned home to Arizona. Currently, my veterinary interests include surgery, internal medicine, and preventive medicine.

I live with my husband and two dogs, Fitz and John. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my dogs, spending quality time with my family, watching movies, dancing, and doing outdoor activities. I am excited to have joined the AZPetVet team! As a veterinarian, I am eager to provide outstanding care for my patients and creating a long-lasting relationship with clients.

Dr. Stephanie Wolff

I grew up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago until I graduated high school and moved to Arizona. I received my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology from Northern Arizona University and earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Midwestern University in 2020. I have worked in animal health for over 15 years, starting in 2003. During that time, I was a Certified Veterinary Technician, with most of my experience being in emergency medicine and research/laboratory animal medicine. My professional interests include feline medicine, emergency and critical care, research, and teaching. The best part of being a Veterinarian is that nothing is ever the same! No species, owner, or case is going to be identical.

At home, we have 3 cats: Athena, a 16-year-old Siamese, Riggs, a 13-year-old Siamese, and Squirrel (aka Booger), who’s all black and about a year old. In my free time I enjoy photography, camping, hiking, and exploring used bookstores. I’m a big Harry Potter fan and collect books from the series in different languages!

Dr. Emily Chetner

I grew up in Santa Clarita, California and attended undergrad at the University of California, Davis, graduating in 2016 with my B.S. in Animal Science with a focus in physiology. After, I moved to Arizona in 2016 with my cat , Smushy to begin veterinary school. In 2020, I graduated with honors from Midwestern University earning my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. During veterinary school, I worked as a relief veterinary technician at an emergency hospital and held multiple positions at school including College President and pharmacology tutor. Prior to beginning a career in veterinary medicine, I was in business management for 13 years. My professional interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, and business management/ownership.

During veterinary school, I acquired two more pets along the way: a Bengal cat named Snuggies and a Golden Retriever named Monkey. Outside of work, I am passionate about helping the community and I volunteer frequently at Church. I also love to cook and attend sporting events, particularly baseball, and begin the path to an MBA degree this fall. One of the most rewarding parts of veterinary medicine is building relationships and solving complicated problems. I look forward to working with my community and ensuring their pets are happy and healthy.

Dr. Tara Tillotson

I grew up in Phoenix and graduated from the University of Arizona in 2016. After undergrad, I went on to attend veterinary school, earning my degree from the University of Illinois in 2020. My experience includes working with wildlife orphans at the Tucson Wildlife Center preparing them for release, and as a veterinary assistant throughout undergrad and vet school. I’ve also volunteered at the Arizona Humane Society helping shelter dogs find their forever homes. My professional interests include emergency medicine, internal medicine, and exotic companion animal medicine. The most rewarding part of being a veterinarian is providing high-quality medicine while fostering the bond between pets and their owners.

At home, I have two cats, a sassy calico named Callie and a very sweet tabby named Kate. I also have two dogs, an 18-year-old mutt named Missy and a goofy brittany named Jessi. In my free time, I like working out, reading (I love a good mystery/thriller), and binge-watching reality TV.

Dr. Ji Kang

I grew up in Glendale, CA and attended Cal Poly Pomona’s Animal Science Program starting in 2009. Before joining Arrow, I volunteered at two small animal hospitals in California where I observed surgeries, client relationships, and assisted technicians. My professional interests include internal medicine and anatomic pathology. The most rewarding part of being a veterinarian is being able to help patients in need and give them the best care possible. It’s so rewarding to see a patient improve throughout the treatment process.

Back in California my parents own a pet grooming shop, so my four-legged family includes too many dogs to count, our cat, leopard tortoise, and a Mississippi map turtle. In my free time, I like to go hiking, mountain biking, and play games.
